Best Nikon Lenses for Wedding Photography
What are the best Nikon lenses for wedding photography? This question often arises through comments and emails from readers, I went first, include it in our FAQ section Photography, are but then decided to write a separate article on the subject and to develop a little more. Specifically, I have been thinking about what I think the lenses are the best for weddings not only write, but also why and in which cases you use a special lens. Please note that the information presented below is a personal opinion, based on my experience so far. If you have a favorite lens you for wedding photography that is not listed below, please feel free to comment at the bottom of the page with a little information and pictures to add (if you have any you want to share).
1) Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S
First on the list is my (and Lola) favorite Toko Baju Online lens for wedding photography - Nikon 50mm f/1.4G AF-S. We would like for four main reasons: strong, colorful, light and bokeh it produces is excellent.
I've always been a fan of the 50mm primes. The older Nikon 50mm f/1.4D is also very good, but how-heptagon bokeh it produces is a bit annoying, so I like the new version instead of "G". Ideally on a full-frame body, the focal length of 50 mm and can be both beautiful portraits and full body shots to size when capture a bit from the topic. It works equally well on a DX body, but the focal length can be a little long, which is certainly a disadvantage when working in confined spaces. If they only allowed to use a lens for weddings, definitely choose the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G. See detailed Nikon 50mm f/1.4G review for more information on this lens.
Nikon released a 50mm lens compact and light, much cheaper in 2011 - the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G. Actually better than the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G in many ways, so I recommend the model f/1.8G get ranked.
2) Nikon 85mm f/1.4D/G
If you want the best-looking, http://www.ssweightloss.com/choosing-hairstyles-fat-women/ creamy bokeh, see the Nikon 85mm f/1.4G Nikon 85mm f/1.4D or older, our second favorite lens for wedding photography. Most photographers associate the word bokeh with this lens for a reason - it is the king of blur background. It is also one of the sharpest lenses Nikon, get excellent results with a maximum aperture of f/1.4.
At maximum aperture the depth of field is so shallow that too close to your subject, whether and focus are blurred to the eye, the nose. I usually shoot between f/2.0 f/2.8 f/4.0 for portraits and occasionally when I have more depth of field. Lola loves, and it was with a lot of her portrait sessions and weddings lately.
3) Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II
I got my hands on the new Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II as soon as it was available, because I knew it would be much better than the last, I have always enjoyed shooting. The nice thing about the 70-200mm, it gives you to play such a focal length.
If taken with focal lengths as the Nikon 50mm or 85mm Nikon, you almost interact with people, and you will surely notice your presence because of its proximity. The Nikon 70-200mm lets you capture subjects from afar in their natural state, without the attention. It is a very versatile lens and works very well with all Nikon teleconverters, if you feel that the focal length is not enough. Sharpness and color are the exception at all focal lengths and the bokeh in the 70-200mm is also excellent. The only complaint I have about the 70-200mm is its weight - never use it because it is too painful to bear Lola. Regular shooting with this lens is not so bad, but I had a lot of back pain after shooting our last wedding with him all day ... not something I want to do it again. Combine the weight of a body in a professional and Nikon D3s and becomes a heavy combo. Check out my review of the 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II, which I wrote a while ago.
4) Nikon 24mm f/1.4G AF-S
If you want to see ever produced on the sharpest lens Nikon, Nikon 24mm f/1.4G read! This piece of jewelery was not to leave my bag, because I like it. On my camera I use it for all types of photography, including nature photography and weddings, and the focal length of 24 mm is very useful for the entire body and group shots or when working in confined space environments.
While it is not designed to be a great portrait lens like the 85mm or 70-200mm, it can certainly do the job quite well in the bokeh department with its maximum aperture of f/1.4. Like other focal targets f/1.4 is great for low light situations, especially towards the end of the wedding, when the amount of ambient light decreases very challenging levels. Check out my in-depth review of the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G, if you have not seen for more information.
5) Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G
The Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G is one of my favorite landscape photography, since it was released goals. While not as sharp as the Nikon 24mm f/1.4G and suffers from severe / vignetting distortion between the focal lengths of 24mm-28mm to increase its versatility to 70mm offset problems. I discovered this lens when I started to photograph people and I was very pleased with beautiful and colorful images that it creates. It certainly is not a destination of choice for the separation of topics and create a nice bokeh effect, but when you are so close to at your subject and shoot with f/2.8 and use focal lengths of 35 mm above, you will get results very impressive.
The Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G is a great goal to shoot full body shots and it does as good as photos taken by the groups. Write a detailed Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 evaluation, comparison with Nikon 24mm f/1.4G and Nikon 14-24mm both f/2.8G.
We strongly support all previous lenses of our wedding photography. When it comes to the wide-angle lens, 24mm usually good f/1.4G Nikon or Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G, but not both. I know many wedding photographers can also use the fisheye lens and tilt-shift to enjoy for weddings, but I have not much experience with them, so I can not comment. If you have other lens for their favorite portrait photography / Wedding, let us know in the comments below!
